The first of four volumes in our acclaimed archive series Oh! It's A Lovely War, this CD album and download runs for 74 minutes and features some of the best known period songs and sound recordings of the First World War era. The recordings are mainly British, and include patriotic songs, marches, descriptive sketch records and actuality material. Recording dates are as stated below. All selections have been sympathetically remastered using CEDAR technology, while the booklet features detailed historical and recording notes by historian James Hayward.
